Alan Carter - Managing Director

Alan’s long career in the furniture industry started with a 5 year apprenticeship at upholstery college, working during this time for a renowned furniture manufacturer. This gave Alan the springboard he needed to work his way up the ranks. 

With a move from Sussex to Dorset and a good career to date, he took a sabbatical and with 2 other crew sailed a 54’ ketch from the Med around the world through both the Panama and Suez canals, one of the highlights en route being the Galapagos Islands. 

After finding his land legs again Alan spent a few years running his own upholstery business in Portugal and now heads up Craftwood Interiors as MD.  

Mandy Lofthouse - Finance Director

Mandy started her career in banking and then migrated to office management, joining Craftwood Interiors at its inception.  After studying Business & Management and Accounts at Bournemouth College and Bournemouth University she was promoted to Finance Director in 2005.  Mandy has enjoyed the challenges presented to her over the years in this busy industry and is proud to be an integral part of a successful business. 

Heather Baskerville - Sales Director

Heather has worked in the furniture industry all her working life. With a BSc degree in Furniture Production and having worked for both the retail and shopfitting sectors of the industry, she brings with her a wide range of experiences and ideas.

Having previously worked for a number of years on the ‘the other  side of the table’ as a Purchasing Manager, she knows what you as a potential buyer should expect to receive in terms of service, and looks forward to working with you.

From the Far East to wilderness canoeing in Sweden, outside work Heather loves to travel and experience different cultures and surroundings throughout the world.

Harry Radford - Operations Manager

Harry joined us as Production Manager after a long career in the aviation industry.  His invaluable experiences in aircraft manufacturing and fleet maintenance scheduling are now being applied to streamlining our seating manufacturing, after all it’s all about getting the right product to the right place at the right time.  

In his spare time, Harry is a keen walker and enjoys exploring the New Forest with his two dogs.  He has a sharp sense of humour, usually aimed at himself!

Sally Papworth - Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator

Sally came to Craftwood Interiors with a varied background in sales and marketing behind her, having worked in frozen foods, coated products, fashion, IT hardware and software, construction and a five star hotel.  As our resident Italian speaker Sally also gets to chase fabrics and products ordered from Italy.
