Christchurch-based upholstery company, Craftwood Interiors, is pleased to announce that they have completed a contract to furnish St Peter’s R.C. School’s sixth form lounge. The school felt strongly that its students deserved a comfortable social space to relax and hang out with friends in between studies. It needed to be practical yet comfortable, durable yet stylish.
St Peter’s School proudly celebrates the 60th year of its Sixth Form in 2010, and what better way to continue its tradition of success than to give students a superb social space to rest, relax and study between lessons. The project was completed earlier this year and has generated a phenomenal amount of positive reviews.
The detailed thought processes behind the new banquette seating were highly important as there were a number of requirements to be given careful consideration before the task could commence. Craftwood Interiors, teaching staff, in particular Deputy Head Teacher Mike Antram, were involved from the preliminary stages right through to the final product. The seating needed to be durable and last for future students; it needed to be tough and easy to clean; it had to be a colour which wouldn’t show the dirt and a fabric which would wear well over the years. The seating needed to provide a dynamic social space for friendly interaction between students as well as look great and be comfortable for the hundreds of students, from a range of schools, who choose St Peter’s for their post-16 learning.
Mike Antram, Deputy Head Teacher of St. Peter’s School commented; “We were greatly impressed with the high standard and high quality workmanship Craftwood Interiors has delivered. We’ve been inundated with positive comments from students, teachers and visitors to our school. Students in particular really appreciate the investment made in creating a high quality social space, especially for them.”
