GBK Norwich

Norfolk

REF: 8990

The Brief

When Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) purchased their new site in Norwich, they were challenged with creating a new restaurant in the historic City of Norwich. In a prime position outside the modern Chapelfield Shopping Centre and amongst many other chain restaurant brands, they needed to create a real statement with their new site.

The Solution

Fusion DNA came up with an exciting interior design taking full advantage of the full height windows on both ground and first floors, with views across Chapelfield Plain, Norwich.

Free-standing solid oak framed bespoke banquettes look just the part offset against the tactile cork clad walls. Upholstered in rich warm yellow leather with float button detailing to the backs, the layout maximises covers in this area but still feels spacious and airy. The industrial style lighting hanging from reclaimed timber clad ceilings really adds to the visual delight as you come up the stairs.

Straight banquettes in 2 two other areas are fixed against the walls and are upholstered in leather, with the carcases being clad in reclaimed oak to tie in with the ceiling and floor finishes. 2 leather colours are used here…one in the yellow and the other in a deep orange colour. Float buttons add a simple detail to the upholstery without taking anything anyway from the whole design.

Results

A rich, welcoming, sunny feeling environment has been created here. The plethora of varying colours, textures and materials throughout the entire interior has resulted in a stunning new restaurant for GBK!

“Craftwood understand how to make high quality furniture rather than just a piece of standard banquette seating. Their attention to detail is meticulous and they worked closely with us through the whole process , applying their expertise and experience, to turn our concept into high quality, well detailed comfortable and stylish items of furniture that are focal points of the overall design.”
