Jamie's Italian Brisbane

Australia

REF: 9838

The Brief

MBDS were tasked with designing another new restaurant for Jamie’s Italian International……this time in Brisbane, Australia. Having worked with Craftwood on Jamie’s Adelaide some months earlier, they and the Keystone Group were confident of another successful outcome. As with Adelaide, sizes were agreed with MBDS and TKG before manufacture to ensure a perfect fit upon arrival on site. GBS Freight Services being responsible for the shipping again.

The Solution

The site at Brisbane with its low ceilings represented a challenge to ensure that the finished restaurant retained that warm and welcoming Jamie’s feel. As you can see below, a clever combination of timber panelling, stone walls and a great use of lighting together with honest steel ductwork and cable trays in the ceiling, really has hit the mark here!

The ground floor of the restaurant utilised sprung base fluted back seating in a combination of booths and banquettes, in a mix of a warm mustard colour leather and a strong raspberry pink leather. Whilst in the basement, half diamond style back seating is used mainly but down here introducing an additional deep teal blue colour.

In front of the kitchen pass sits a long shallow u-shaped run of seating, with back to back booths opposite. The rich blue leather also being used on a number of upholstered dining chairs also. All contrasting with the solid timber of the seating surround walls and the tables, and the bright pink metal chairs……..

Results

Another successful project completed………..we think that the colours here really do “pack a punch”. A really clever use of different materials, textures and colours has resulted in a beautiful restaurant that’s just inviting you to take a seat. Well done to all involved!
