Nando's Ealing Common

REF: 16-1287

The Brief

One of the Peri-Peri chicken purveyor’s smaller branches, Nando’s Ealing Common forms part of the art-deco style London Underground station along the area’s busy main road. From that point of view it is in a prime location, in what Metro news in 2016 advocated as the best part of London to live in.

The Solution

Nando’s brief of unique and different yet evidently Nando’s was met stylishly by Moreno Masey with their interior for Nando’s Ealing Common.

For this long banquette a concept drawing was provided for Craftwood to turn into reality. As for the alternating pattern, the darker sections in Yarwood Mustang Bottle leather were arranged so that they lined up with the windows.

Something unusual that Craftwood was asked for on this project was a scalloped back on the long banquette, the wavy effect can be seen in the above image.

The layout features a central seating island having a very critical angle which the booth seating had to follow precisely.

Back to back stitch fluted booth seating in Yarwood Mustang Oxblood. Craftwood also produced matching panels to run along the wall.

Craftwood also provided seat pads for the benches in the waiting area, again employing the Yarwood Oxblood.

One of Nando’s cosier branches, optimising the seating space while creating visual appeal saw designers Moreno Masey create an interior for Ealing Common comprising three principle seating areas each with its own very distinctive look – a long run banquette in alternating greens by the windows, a central “island” and face-to-face booths in a rich, deep stitch fluted oxblood, for a slightly more intimate dining experience. In terms of uniqueness, the scalloped back certainly makes for one of the more unusual banquettes Craftwood has been asked to make, illustrating just how flexible and innovative Craftwood can be when it comes to accommodating the demands of designers. The interior overall is unique, different yet very Nando’s.
