The award winning interior by Moreno Masey features this hexagonal-stitch float button back banquette, the hexagonal motif replicating that of the flooring.

The ground floor level also incorporates crisscross-stitch fluted banquettes, such as this fine example in a saffron coloured leather.

Being one of Nando’s larger branches the Old Street location allowed plenty of scope for Moreno Masey to employ a variety of different seating styles in its various sectors, the basement featuring a circle-stitch back banquette in a distinctive teal leather.

The basement also features a number of C-shaped booths, an interesting feature being the backs, which are constructed from separate panels each individually upholstered.

Additionally, the provision of seating in the basement level includes these rather attractive diagonal-stitch back units.

Results

As well as providing superlative surroundings for dining out, Nando’s Old Street won its designers the Restaurant & Bar Design Award in the Multiple Restaurant category for 2016. It was no mean feat given the standard of the competition but perhaps not surprising given the visual effect created by Moreno Masey’s designs. To give an idea of the scope of the competition, these annual awards attract over 1,000 entries from 70 countries for the various categories. Winning one of them is therefore something a design studio can feel justifiably proud of and Craftwood is proud of its contribution to their success. In this case the seating called for some complex and intricate stitch patterns and novel upholstery methods, however no matter what the requirements with Craftwood designers can be assured of dealing with a winning team.

“With experience comes knowledge and Craftwood have both in good measure. Our aim on every project is to achieve design excellence. In order to achieve this we are wholly reliant upon making the right appointments, so choosing to work with Craftwood is a simple choice. Their high standards, attention to detail and enthusiasm in collaborating with our design teams provides a steady platform on which they consistently deliver.”

Dale Roberts, Group Design Project Manager for the Nando’s Group
