The Brief
Getting its name GPO from the abbreviation for General Post Office, this newly opened restaurant is located on Orpington High Street opposite the Walnuts shopping centre. Having undergone a complete makeover with its fresh new design and facelift, it still encompasses its original heritage and the restaurant front looks fantastic against the old brick. Being one of the oldest building remaining on the Highstreet, Sam Westlake and Tom Walker have created something truly beautiful.

The Solution
The seating created for Orpington GPO needed to be just as stylish and chic as the rest of the interiors. Large pained windows line the walls of the restaurant creating natural light throughout, industrial lighting has been used to create a cool relaxed vibe that encompasses the exposed venting on the ceiling. White painted walls and dark grey/blue ceilings and bar create a beautiful contrasting interior that matches the cladded exterior front.
We used tanned faux leather on dark stained plinths for our banquette seating that lines the left side wall, fluted back was asked for in the briefing to create a stylish look that matched the freestanding chairs. These were brilliant for this space creating seating for those who like to observe in comfort and effortless style.
Results
Now fully opened to customers, Orpington GPO is taking the high street by storm. Offering everything from Coffee and Cocktails to the classic Sunday roast, in a beautiful laid-back setting with stunning seating to match (if we say so ourselves). Working alongside Sam and Tom on this project was a pleasure, they knew exactly what they wanted to achieve with having experience in this industry already, the seating makes a fantastic addition to Orpington.
