The Terrace, Isle of Wight
Located above the Wightlink terminal, The Terrace offers breath-taking views across the Yarmouth harbour and beyond. This venue is a family run restaurant. With its relaxed, family friendly atmosphere (furry friends welcome on their terrace too!) and New England theme flowing throughout, the interiors are a breath of fresh air for all who visit Yarmouth.
The Solution
With their simple but tasteful name being “The Terrace” everything about this restaurant is beautifully designed. The colours used throughout go perfectly inline with the name, cool greys and crisp whites drench the inside giving it a fresh and bright feeling that complement the fresh and bright surroundings of Yarmouth Harbour. With boat owners being able to anchor up and within just a short walk of 20 metres have their food on order and a drink in hand, the décor quite obviously has this “nautical” clientele in mind.
Our seating needed to encompass that same New England light and airy style that works so well within this setting. For this we used a soft bluey grey textured fabric with stitching to match, that blended in so perfectly with the painted cladded wood walls.
Throughout the restaurant our fluted back, banquette seating was used adding even more texture and creating space to an already sun drenched, open area. Stained plinths line the base of the banquettes effortlessly building them into the walls as if they had always been there.

Now opened and welcoming customers The Terrace décor is just as tasteful as its tasty menu. Our seating works well within this setting, giving it an all-round relaxing, laid back feeling. Creating beautiful seating for the restaurant at The Terrace was plain sailing (excuse the pun), from start to finish a clear design brief from TML Creative made for easy work and we cannot wait to work with them again.
